The role of SMT Process Technician focuses on ensuring the SMT and Electrical Assembly (EA) lines produce quality product safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include technical problem solving, equipment PM, AOI programming, and working with Design and Manufacturing Engineering on PCB panel layout. We are looking for an innovative Technician that thrives in a fast-paced, high energy electronics environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for SMT / EA production support
  • Monitor quality metrics and work with Manufacturing Engineering to implement appropriate countermeasures
  • Perform advanced PMs and repairs on SMT Printers, Placement Machines, Ovens, AOI, and Selective Solder
  • Maintain and track weekly PM’s for SMT/EA areas
  • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering on PCB panel layout and Stencil Design
  • Create programs and assembly packets for NPI builds



  • AA Degree in electronics or equivalent and at least 3 years related work experience; extensive work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • High degree of electronic/technical knowledge
  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Boards, components, and electronic hardware
  • Knowledge of workmanship acceptability requirements such as IPC 610
  • Knowledge of ESD and how to safely handle electronic components
  • Ability to solder
  • Excellent written and oral communications, good employee relation skills
  • Proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, exceptional character, and extremely collaborative



  • Experience programming AOI
  • Experience in PCB panel layout
  • Experience in Solder Stencil Design
  • Experience with quality metrics
  • IPC certified
