Advanced Input Systems, AIS, located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is a leading designer and manufacturer of custom Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for major OEM’s worldwide. We have immediate openings for engineers that will be responsible for developing a broad range of electromechanical systems and products in support of HMI market and customer needs.

We are growing our team with people dedicated to pushing the state-of-the-art for HMI. As an integral member to product development, you will collaborate with a cross-functional staff throughout the product lifecycle to deliver creative and differentiated solutions.

  • BS or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in full lifecycle product development from inception through production
  • Ability to solve a wide range of technical problems & contribute creative ideas to improve development processes
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and extremely collaborative
  • Comfortable with fast pace, constant change, and handling multiple projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively both, verbally and written
  • Specific background with:
    • Mechanical analysis i.e.- stress, thermal, tolerance
    • Design for manufacturability
    • Part design experience in sheet metal, machined parts, elastomers, and injection-molded plastics
    • Electromechanical assemblies and electronic packaging
    • Rapid prototyping
      • Familiarity with FCC, TUV, EC, UL, RoHS etc. agency requirements
      • Experience in peripheral software such as Excel, Microsoft Project, OneNote, etc.


  • 3-5 years minimum experience 
  • Advanced CAD experience, i.e. advanced surfacing, top-down design, FEA, Simulation
  • Familiarity with Reliability Engineering methods including cycle testing, IP, EMC and HALT testing
  • Experience with tool design and fabrication
